Free 3D print finbox templates
Sanded - any feedback on the boxes.
Are plastic fins strong enough.
There is a lot of pressure put on the base of the fin when turning.
I made a gullwing fin out of perspex put it in my mal, surfed it just as a single fin and first surf out the Pass on a small day on the fifth wave it snapped.
There is a detailed thread about 3D printed fins on Swaylocks by Mr Mik.
He runs carbon fiber rods from the tab into the fin to solve the weakness problem at the fin base.
