Sure you don't want to give us a link to google maps with an arrow pointing to the prime take off spot. But what are you prepared to say?
I'll show you you mine if you show me yours, don't worry no one else is reading this

Wasn't directed at you mate. It was more a general observation from what I have seen happening lately they aren't secrets to take to the grave far from it just stops those who don't put in the time and effort from reaping the rewards. The little hints your giving for your stretch of coast I may never visit so wouldn't know if you were being honest or misleading but 7 times hey I don't know how you would measure that mate but best you give yourself a pat on the back.
No worries mate. Re the 7 times that was a knee jerk joke to make lite of thinking you were calling me a kook,.., as I said "probably" which means I dont actually know...,.
You probably do surf 7 times better though. The whole thing with secret spot's is theres always someone else who knows about them. It's just with sites like this CW etc that have reasonably active swell forecasting and winds etc. Once it is revealed how and when a little spot works and people learn how to get there your quiet little uncrowded break becomes another Clusterfuck with poor etiquette.
I dont believe in secret spots because i just don't understand when the line from secret to not secret is crossed?…how many people?
I did surf a real fickle wave in Tassie 15 years ago that apparently no one had surfed before and according to locals no one has surfed since, and it was actually a pretty good wave its just when it surfable, everywhere where else is double the size and pumping.
Weird thread Burgsurfer...!
I'm really not sure where you want to go with this, but it's not going down well with many bloggers here at all...?
Places you've mentioned..! Cronulla, Coal Coast...? etc
They're dead set surfed out for sure, there are many places and many countries that have secret spots that people will keep a secret;)
I hope we aLL WILL......
Cheers Welly, no offense:)
I don't agree too much with mentioning spots even known spots. For every person that knows a well known spot there's a thousand at least that don't know about it.
I've seen so many spots that I searched and found empty become well known whores to magazines and aspiring pros. It really is disappointing when that happens so even known spots I'd rather not say too much.
If you're sharing photos and info about a spot its pretty likely to keep people thinking about the place and on alert for next time its good.the sort of low etiquette take lots of waves, large pack of kook friends.
Not the sort that you want to surf with.
Less mentioned the better.
Agree with Groundswell. There are a lot of places around oz that aren't secret just haven't been featured in a magazine and are forgotten. One of the great things about surf forecasting today is that it has created a generation of surfers that go to a spot when the forecast says it will be good and don't go there under any other conditions and never see the break on the other side of the channel.
I got told by one bright spark on this forum yesterday that I could not have gone for a surf yesterday as the forecast said it was howling onshore, where I live there is always somewhere offshore or near enough just depends on the swell, I would not want to have to rely on the internet for my every surf where I live, it's great as it only gets crowded when the internet says so and they get skunked most times.
caml wrote:Im a spy in disguise youve busted me . But i do have a secret spot . Do u want to know about ( them ) ?
All ready know where yours is, you boogie boarders should leave the gps turned off phone when you share that secret pic:-)
This one wave was very close to where i grew up beginning to surf but didnt surf it until about 3/4 yrs ago . A mate from san diego ? Cali ? Told me about it . Thats strange seeing he only lived there for a yr . Its very fickle and needs specific size , tide , wind . When these conditions occur then theres everywhere else breaking quite good . Anyway lunch breaks over . Bye
