I’m not much of a fighter. But I’d say that it’s probably healthier for people to thrash this kind of stuff out online than in the surf.

Still frothing, surfing is the best. Avid reader and surf traveller ( I’m not off to Lances Right in July to pick daisies and ride a longboard) , builder, landscaper, teacher, botanist , bird observer, cosmologist and all round fucking know it all.

Funny the enduring memory i have from today,...and i got some great rides, absolute freight trains.. but the one memory that sticks out is the sound of thunderclaps over my shoulder as i furiously paddled into another perfect lined up pearler.

Today was my 3rd surf back from a month out of the water from injury......
Fuck it was pretty good hey. It's in my top 10 surfs at this particular break. Definitely in hall of fame territory and the fact it just kept blowing it's guts out N...NE...NW all day....with the swell fluctuating but basically flatlining on a good size all day...it was a day to really take in your relationship with the ocean. When all the gifts arrive at once.....hehe.
Much needed and the surf head is starting to return.....what we all are eh! Bloody tapped...but in the best way possible.
that's awesome @SR. Just had a chat with a bloke who go a dozen surfs last fortnight. Bastard. I had nothing like that. I had a few last week, but one was great just because I specifically hoped it would be.. A standard SW swell and the wind turned to be a light offshore at sunrise and low tide. First time I haven't felt grumpy or *making* myself go out this autumn. This paddle out I got that teary-eyed giggle, almost crying about life and stuff, and how great it was to be in that moment. gritting my teeth and paddling towards the sunrise, seeing some nice waves I knew I was about to play in. That'll do me.
Actually thinking on it, that feeling is like when you are about 22 and having a pissy chatty loud time surrounded by friends and strangers and drinking hard but holding it well. And you go to the urinal and you let go of the piss, you reel back on your heels and look towards the sky and just fucking laugh.
Wow that's great @basesix. Yeah i understand that feeling of missing that feeling sometimes. It's like exercise though. Just takes that one workout to get the ball rolling and all of a sudden, you're right in amongst it again, completely immersed in it all.

Haha yeah had a few nights like those...also! Unfortunately most of those memories are somewhere in the urinal. Not the surf ones though!
Slight tweak of the injury again today, so might try for a quick surf in the morning..cos it's still gonna be up and reasonable but slightly smaller (thanks Swellnet!), but also might swim out with the water camera and try to capture a few primo moments in the morning sun. Dolphins are welcome!!

For too long we’ve been flocks of sheep, all doing the same thing, behaving in the same manner , wearing similar clothes, riding similar boards , an era of invention on all levels mostly because we have a ram ruling the roost and we fear to buck the trend in fear of ridicule.
For crying out load, we’ve been stereotyped by society for how we dressed, behaved , what we put in our bodies, our social and political stances and views on life since the late 50’s and early 60’s
It’s about time we break that shell and be outspoken, have a voice and educated opinions I say. If something is on ya mind , let it rip, self expression is a good thing.

Also now US citizens are being picked up on the street , and held by ICE , for no apparent reason.
