This conflict is over 1000 days and will continue for a good while yet.

Theres lots of BS floating around online( some paid for by the Ruski propagandists) so here's an opportunity to comment on whats going on if ya know?

Juzzie is a good source of info and he speaks "our" language.

Bleed GOLIATH out!

UKRAINE continues to destroy the Russian war machine.

At this point in time over 2/3 of Tanks/infantry fighting vehicles/artillery systems gone(some captured and being used by Ukes)

Half the air defence systems gone...1/3 of the BlackSea fleet turned into submarines and forced to relocate away from Sevastopol. 40% of aircraft gone, same with helicopters.

AND just recently OilDepots and Oil refineries getting blown up and made inoperable.

NorthKorean mercenaries half of which are killed or wounded have been withdrawn.

New recruits with a life expectancy of 8 days once they reach the front.

Complicated that with an economy with businesses failing, 28-30% interest rates, rampant inflation

Oligarchs NOT happy seeing their assets frozen in foreign countries

Uke sources are saying 850,000 Ruskis eliminated. They have hinted that home losses are 1:7.So my calculations are that by months end it will be a total of a million.NOT millionS that TWump says!...Fark, thats a lot of wasted lives.

Donkeys were used at Gallipoli , thats a while ago AND I saw the Lawrence of Arabia movie(as a kid) he rode a camel, so the Russkis are really going high tech!

Today in Europe is the 3 year anniversary of the 3 day silly moron operation to take over the Kiev government.

Lotsa BS geopolitical stuff happening, I'll be surprised IF it's a ceasefire soon but maybe???

AFAIK, the UKES wont stop until they push the Ruskis out and its a long hard process.

PooMan wants the resources of the Donbas and Twump wants some too.

Deal or NO DEAL!...Ukranians just want a normal life for their families and future generations.

HA HA, their word is worth crap...they have violated every agreement they have ever entered into..Thats Y Zelensky argued in the ovalOffice,he earnestly wants peace but fair and just.JD France(French for DS) was completely ignorant to that situation....Its now been smoothed over and the yanks run the proposal of a ceasefire past the Krumblin,WHO probably wont have a bar of it.

Thanks Andy , I watched half of it , all still up in the air it seems. Biden’s team & the UK really need to be questioned over why they pushed for war instead of a peaceful agreement. Old Joe probably doesn’t realise there is still a war going on , a sad case that should have been put out to pasture years ago . I don’t mind Sachs , some will scream he’s a Russian apologist but he’s certainly no dummy when it comes to that part of the world .

OK, here we go, initial list of Russian demands for end of the war has made the news:

"Russia is understood to have presented the US with a list of demands for a deal to end the war in Ukraine.

The demands are thought to include no Nato membership for Kyiv, an agreement not to deploy foreign troops in Ukraine and international recognition of Crimea and four Ukrainian provinces as Russian territory.

The four provinces are Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia, none of which are fully controlled by Russian forces."

So basically what Sachs, Mearsheimer, Douglas et al have been saying....

Will US accept?

Yeah - why would America accept and why should it be their decision to ‘hand over’ Ukrainian territory or make agreements in perpetuity on behalf of the Ukrainian people - who voted across the board to become independent, regardless of ethnicity in 1991 - about their sovereignty.

You’re a funny kind of anti-colonialist.

If USA stop funding and intelligence sharing, do you think Ukraine can continue war?
If they do start up funding etc again, what is the difference between Trump and Biden? Ukrainians just keep getting killed after being kidnapped off street by Russian meat grinding war machine?
Or do you start sending in foreign troops, US included and start WW3?
I'd be going for peace.

I don’t think you give a single shit about what Ukrainians think though. That’s the problem, and inconsistency, with your position. You’ve never spoken out about the nihilistic, senseless, hopeless-case, meat-grinding machine of Hamas from what I can tell. You rightly criticise Israel for its actions but don’t seem to apply the same logical approach to Ukraine and Russia. In Just War theory, Ukraine has more right to continue their defence than Hamas. Because they have control over their land, they are capable of sustaining a defence and they are on the defence. Hamas only meet one of those criteria. Ongoing conflict puts the impact disproportionately on civilians. But you support that. Weird position, frankly.

As for what the Ukrainians will do? They’ll fight. With forks if that’s all they have. That’s a quote, apocryphal, but still reflects the sense that Ukrainians are sick of being treated as sub-human by Russians.

You also seem to miss the point that the Russian meat-grinding machine is killing a lot more Russians than Ukrainians. And will continue to do so.

Been listening to a podcast series about the lead up to and initial stages of WW2, focused on the experiences of Czechoslovakia and Poland. Fuck that. I’d fight too.

I think that's the Russian opening gambit, this is the ideal they would like. OK so you don't roll the country in 3 days, you suffer nearly a million casualties, thousands of tanks, etc etc - you are going to want to get a pretty big chunk of the country you invaded to feel good about the outcome.

Whether they get it or not? I don't know, some back and forth to come. Zelenskyy wants all pre-2022 invasion territory back.

Have Sachs/Mearsheimer been accurate on conveying the Russian war aims?

And it's also making ending the war 'on day one' as silly sounding as taking the country in 3 days - cue Mike Tyson quote on what fights are like.

Interesting but he is just giving opinion as is Sachs and others.
Sachs is not alone, and there is plenty of evidence the US have been a factor in the politics of Ukraine.
I am in no position to say who is 100% correct.
But the US does have a very well known history of interference in other countries.
Indonesia for example, plus many more in central America etc.
Regardless, if he is 100% correct if the tables were turned the USA would not accept Russian or Chinese bases in Cuba, Mexico etc.

But all that is beside the point, it appears Russia are winning the war, too many are dying and without US support the Ukrainians cannot continue to fight.

Or is that just propaganda?

You don't know what I give a shit about mate....
I am critical of Russia and Trump, but NATO expansion is a factor in my view.

Re Israel, same ad Ukraine, if they stop funding the war/ genocide is over.

I'm out.

You’re not in a position to say who is correct?
I read that as de facto saying that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is justified?

I think the calls that Russia is winning the war are ill-informed and don’t really reflect the realities of what the war aims of both parties are. I would also put to you that Russia would have lost this war in 2023 or 2024 if it hadn’t been for the material support of Iran, China and North Korea. Which gets lost in the noise.

I respect your position on this, don’t necessarily agree with it, but I can understand where it comes from and I think it’s a good place. And i respect the way you engage with this topic.

Go well.

OK cheers etarip.

No I don't believe the Russian invasion was justified.

And yes Russia getting help from China etc .

The whole thing stinks. I grew up in cold war and hate seeing this play out in this age.

From my point I cannot see any winners in this war and bringing the violence to a end should be only priority of both parties.
Simplistic niave view yes, but the alternative is too horrific.
I'm just being a key board commentator at the end of the day.
Wish you well.

Some real facts.

Three years ago RF controlled 25% of Ukraine(including Crimea), right now its 18%.Ask yourselves WHO is winning this war?

Ukraine is systematically destroying the Russians weapons and logistics. Its a BIG task!

The KIA is 1 to 7(according to a Zelensky statement), thats where PooMan is winning.

The advance on the front is snail pace ,estimates are 150-200 years( to take all Ukraine) at the present rate if everything stays the same(it wont).

My opinion is it wont end soon but happy if Twump can influence something(???)

PooTin(in military uniform) has been in Kursk oblast where he and KimSukDik's boys have pushed a Uke withdrawal of some of the territory that Ukraine has occupied since last August.

This invasion of RF was meant to divert forces away from the main front in the east, it succeeded and Ukes are making progress at taking their own territory back there.

POO's response to the proposed ceasefire isnt definitive, meaning he just wants to carry on the hostilities. The ceasefire would have set a platform for more negotiations but Poo just wants everything.

There was supposed to be a meeting of a yank delegation with Poo but it is in doubt at this stage.conflicting reports abound.Wait and see if theres any developments in next few days.
