haha, in all seriousness, reading christopher hitchens' 'why orwell matters' now, is contemplative, instructive and timely. it's a cheap paperback, so little lost if it don't yield much for the reader. bible cheap, you might say.
i.e. how people choose to view things > (greater than) the things themselves, and inevitably this proportionality changes the world, even if only reinforcing pre-existing bias. super basic idea, worth drilling down on with orwellian colonial/expat context, when there's so much fluff and ephemera doing our nuts in.

I doubt Elon is worried the article quite literally says they use Elons rockets to launch their satellites.
But yeah Ukraine might be wise to use another service with Musk aligned with Trump and the uncertainty around things.
BTW. For a while Elon was providing free Starlink to Ukraine before USA government started picking up the tab
“BTW. For a while Elon was providing free Starlink to Ukraine before USA government started picking up the tab” basically a loss leader….nothing benevolent about it. Knowing the subscriptions will be an ongoing source of $.
Nothing to get excited about.

"Elon Musk says SpaceX capsule will bring home stranded ISS astronauts ‘in a few weeks’
The two NASA astronauts who have been stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) since June will be hitching a ride home on a SpaceX craft in just “a few weeks,” according to Elon Musk — as NASA prepares to launch their replacements on Wednesday night."

What sort of condition will these guys be in when they get back to earth ? That long in a weightlessness environment must have some effect on the body and the mental anguish they would be going through thinking about if they will ever get back to earth and family . Sure they get trained for all this but that’s a long time to be left up there .
