Your the idiot with misinformation again, no wonder you sound like Maga,
I didn’t say that at all , I know Indo is more consistent, with quality waves, which obviously makes it more crowded,
Where I went wasn’t as consistent, but I was the only surfer , in town, with 5 quality waves and beach breaks,
Which sure beats Keramas or Ulus with hundreds of other westerners.
Plus most of them speak some English and are Catholics , with less malaria.
Get your facts straighter than X
Check profile photo, with no one out most of the time!
However they have other issues so don’t go there.

Not sure I've seen many get the best of your patience, @Supa, (you are usually the last one standing with even-handed reasoning with the boom-and-bust myopic whacko types). Don't worry about it this time, I reckon.. Enjoy your time up the east coast.

You have serious unresolved issues mate
They actually have a n edit account information page , where anyone can change their profile picture, so you’re saying we’re not allowed?
Who are you to say that, and you think it’s the same shit every day when you don’t even view videos,
That’s some ignorance.

It certainly corrodes the space for people who are new to it, @Supa, and post in good faith. makes us all cagey and wary of newcomers, not a fun way to operate.. just for one person's disrespectful, bored shits and giggles.

@supa was the one who decided to start criticising me on
this thread, I didn’t mention him at all,
So if you’re going to talk about disrespect and losing patience he was the one who decided he wanted to have a go first
And yes he’s been doing this shit longer than me
, well maybe that’s his problem ?

it's just a pretty honest and open space for an internet machine cubicle, @jef. feels disrespectful to the few blokes that have given the lion's share of their careers to the swellnet to get too playful or narky within it, particularly if it upsets the ecology of the place. just be one person, hang out, and talk surf. easy-peasy.

Yeah you mentioned honest , well that is the point, if someone is dishonest about me or what I post I will call it out,
Doesn’t matter how many decades you’ve been doing it,
Truth is still important.
If someone says all the videos I post are garbage , without even viewing them,
Yes I’ll call that out.
And now you want to talk about the surf in Syria , oh Yeah that makes sense.

Hello, flammable one.
Are you a surfer, if so, where’s ya local .

We’re not nosy at all, but would love to know a bit about you before we get engaged, that’d be only fitting before we establish a relationship wouldn’t you think.

See, of late, we’ve had a fair bit of ‘identity misappropriation’

Are you the real McCoy or just a meal Decoy ?

We are a curious mob. AW

I think it’s Charles Darwin and seedy seeds
who I’m certain are the same person.

Exxotixjeff.

Here’s your own words, ‘you are certain that myself and Seeds are the same person’. Wrong, wrong and wrong.

I think you may have contracted malaria when you were last in the Dillipines
What’s wrong with just having one name, geez it’s not that hard really.

Have you drawn little characters with faces on all your digits and play talky games with each other because that’s how you behave with all these crackpot names you keep using.
No wonder nobody takes you seriously.
How about some interesting surf talk as a suggestion. Gawd blimey, I’m exhausted.AW

Over the last few days other countries have been making the most of the fall of Asad

"Israel, US and Turkey launch strikes in Syria to protect interests"

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/dec/09/israel-us-and-turkey-launc...

Basically

USA taking out ISIS related targets in air strikes, weakening them while the can and ensuring they dont get too involved.

Turkey taking out Kurdish related targets, surprisingly they were doing similar airstrikes back in October and earlier in the year.

Israel making sure the Syrian army, navy and airforce doesn't get used by any future Jihadist run government against them.

Both Israel & Turkey also securing their normal neutral buffer zones so they remain buffer zones.

quadzilla. Funny name, but I ride a 9'6" log. One fin is enough for me.

I don't believe we're witnessing vultures swooping in at this moment. These nations are acutely aware of the peril posed by an Islamic terrorist cell filling the power vacuum left in Syria.

Just imagine if it was another entity like Hamas. Syria would become an even worse a "human slaughterhouse".

Have we not just witnessed the fall of the last secular government in the Middle East, an event that marks a profound shift in the region's political landscape with enormous implications?

What do you expect the surrounding countries to do? Celebrate, like half of our media seems to be erroneously doing?

If you're talking about the fall of al-Assad I get the impression that it was more of a minority shia based dictatorial regime that stripped the countrys' wealth for the personal gain of just a few

Hard not to have some compassion for the local population who just want a decent life though, but considering this story has been played out for centuries it's hard not to be pessimistic about the outcome

Assad is an Alawite muslim, around 11% in Syria but the 2nd biggest religion behind the Sunnis 74%...the others are Shiite,Druze, some Christians and other minor sect Muslims.

Assad was despised as was his father who took power in 1971.A brutal regime that tortured and murdered whoever it wanted.Used chemical weapons against the people.Russia only backed the regime while it was useful.

So now the majority religion is in "power" along the major highway from Aleppo to Damascus and across to the coast and a bit to the east.

BOMBS away will happen for a while yet, it'll be interesting to see if POOman can still maintain the 2 bases he has there.Assad isnt on his radar anymore, not even a pawn in the game. The Russian fleet is sitting off the coast as a precaution, not sure where the planes are, they tried to eliminate the HTS in Aleppo a week or more ago but failed.Good chance they could be back in Russia.

'Assad’s Fall Has Humiliated Washington

...

...Biden’s empty boast about Assad’s demise is a punch line. But his foreign policy was not an anomaly. He channeled the Obama-era conventional wisdom that captured a generation of Washington’s foreign policy elites. Their assumptions about Iran now lay bare and exposed for the world to see as the region realigns. And yet they remain in their perches on Congressional committees, at the best think tanks, and in the top op-ed pages. So it’s worth asking: What else might they be wrong about?"

"We remain committed to reducing Iran's malign influence in the region," State Department deputy spokesman Vedant Patel told reporters during a briefing.
Yeah right. Hypocrisy 101!!
Coming from the biggest malign influence in the region since the end of the 2nd World War.
