I heart WOTD
In this digital and over saturated world it is rare to fire up a webpage and go ‘Woaaaah’. I did that just then.
That is psycho! What an absolute charger. Great shot Steve, great wave riding Adam .
That's a crazy drop.....made it?
Wouldn't like to be his spine..
Swellnet you naughty shit stirrers! Great pic TB! Go Crows!!
100 year anniversary of the Stobie Pole this year. Used extensively in the Territory also.
Proud SA icon like the pie floater, the Hills hoist, frog cakes, bung fritz and pasties.
Last forever, termites hate them, just don't slam into one, steel and concrete don't crumple.
Thankfully they are gradually replacing the ugly bastards with underground wires.
yeeewww! old-dog. The fact half our state is called 'No Trees Plain'
explains why us and NT needed them.. any re-purposing ideas?
fun Sunday game, up there with a crossword or wordle..
They could dump them off Middleton point to create a half decent break.
hahahah
I like spotting cars with stobie shaped dents in their rear end.
They could use them to build a wall along the Victorian border.

nooo.. we SE SAers need the breaks near the smelter when the wind is like this.
plus a soggy Clark's pie from Mortlake is nice about once a year.
The wall would just be to stop the riff raff from getting in, not to stop us from getting out, especially if there is a pie at steak.
*phew* I'm in then. If it stops blue/white number-plate bozo convoys bringing their safety-flagged, recovery-trax-adorned urban spaceships across to Piccaninnie and Canunda, I'll vote "1 old-dog".
The Riff Raff of Australia WILL be discouraged by an Australian , Stobie Pole Wall .
It will bloody work , no joking .
The smart ones , like U guys , will find all the holes , the nooks and crannies , to enable U 2 drive round , over or through IT , at 110km 2 get a pie ( they sound tasty ) .
No fn worries imho .
Melbourne is FULL , build it :) !
We have enough riff raff :)) !

why stop there, use that brilliant invention and do the same for NSW and Queensland
haha,
and make those damn Mexicans pay for it all.
Dammed Mexicans get blamed for a lot :)

sounds like covid, @PoppaD,
can you believe I had people in Vic feeling sorry for me?
while I was in Mt Gambier, Port Mac, Beachport, Robe,
having coffees, dancing with pixies and being all not Dan-ish.
cos I wasn't allowed to travel into Aus' l'il SE ghetto?
Better brace yourselves, school holidays are just kickin off in Vic.
A convey of caravans are marching north and west as we speak.
Stuff yooz all. we made across the border unscathed, strange telegraph poles and all! The TARDIS has landed.
Unfortunately base six , that was a Real , Ring of Steel .
It caused lasting scars putting Melbourne and Victoria , into a Steel cage .
Luckily , a Conga Line of Caravans , will be moving Far and Wide , these School Holidays .
Australian kids love having a couple of weeks , Off school !
geez, I know PoppaD, when I'm in your town, the stories!
God, people will be hurting for generations.
Trying to make sense of it,
erring on the side of caution,
nanny state, so much lush material
for stretched humans and strained brains..
like I say, it's like we went to war..
Hey @basesix, were you in town when the mailman delivered a dead whale? Probably 2017. Did a housesit on the espy there and can say i much preferred driving to Portland Woolies to do my groceries than risking the biscuit and leaving my van unattended in the Mt Gambier precinct!!
Shit yeah! Great shot today. Unique angle of the place.
Yes, love it, reminds me of a favourite wave on the surf coast on a good day
I watched it for about an hour on Monday arvo, 3 guys out, shit loads of swell but only saw a few waves ridden. One young guy wiped out on the takeoff and then spent the next 30 mins. trying to get back out, must have duck dived 50 waves. I was knackered just watching so I skulked off to a more protected spot and got a few.
Nice shot, swilly.
The wave of the day does it for me big time. Nice work Steen Barnes , Shaun Anderson and Swellnet.
In one photo you've encompassed everything nice about surfing. If I was a wanker I'd say that it was perfect except for the fact he is in a wetsuit. Which it is , it's perfect .....except for the fact he's in a wetsuit.
