I dunno guys, i (virtually) put my hands in my pocket, started whistling a tune, and strolled outta SeppoGhetto (where i live, i mean, being a seppo and all) on this fine day in SwellNetVille.
Took a jog thru the Tunes district, headphones on, of course.
Stopped by the church (All Things Religion), to get my spiritual fitness in line. There was some wonderful, if secular music there, too.
Went out back to the Cemetery (Vale and Thanx....), to pay my respects.
Thought i'd head down to the dock to see what they're pullin in today. Seems Freeride scored a bass! (or a perch, not sure...)
Beautiful day.
Went on over to Uni to spend some time on campus. Caught a great lecture (Reparations), then stopped by all the labs to see what the boys have cookin. (Interesting Things, That's Weird, That's Queer, Interesting Things, Too, etc...)
Spent a little time checking out an art gallery. (Classic Australian Artwork)
Went by the Sandwich shop (gettin hungry), but it looked closed. (Put The Sandwiches There). More is the pity.
Thought i'd catch a ballgame before an afternoon sesh, (The Round Ball Game), but spent more time on campus than i had planned, so just caught a vitual cab across town (Wax On).
Great sesh. (WOTD)
Now, on my way home, i thought i'd spend the precious sunset hour in the botanical gardens (Botany Nerds)
And there are drop bears (haven't seen any, though) and dolphins in trees!! Not to mention any number of brilliant flora.
Gonna put my hands back in my pockets now and resume whistling my tune, as i stoll back into SeppoGhetto.
I'm sure passions are still running high there, and the debates are raging.
I might just skip it all and turn in early.
After all, i have a ballgame to catch, tmro.

Yellow flowering tree is from Brazil, very popular in Oz.
Handroanthus chrysostrichus Golden or Silver Trumpet Tree. ( for a long while know as Tabebuia aurea, there are many different species, they look very similar.)
The second shrub, which I love because of its name.
Brunsfelsia pauciflora. Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow plant.
Flower starts out darker mauve and as each day goes by it fades. You can see the different phases. AW

I’ve been watching a shitload of birds and in particular a long hooded nest for three days, two minute Large-billed Gerygones have eggs inside I assume, they visit every ten minutes. A first for me, I’ve seen other Gerygones but not this species.
Chuffed, heading off to Cattana Wetlands shortly and this afternoon off to Tully River Gorge on my free camping blitz for bit of an immersion into rainforest birds, there’s Southern Cassowaries there at present .

Was chatting with seeds earlier this morning and I mentioned fn Drop Bears .
I note with extreme interest , U have nearly seen the scary creatures too , at night .
Some real crazy , scary shit goes down here , at night , with both sights and sounds morphing into a kaleidoscope of almost unimaginable dimensions :) .
AW is heading Cassowary Hunting ffs , he is like a bloody Crocodile Dundee !
Cassowaries are the birds that are like Velociraptors , really .
They hunt , charge and kill humans , 4 fun ( don't eat us :) , apparently ffs .
I would only go into these Danger Zones unarmed , with Seedy AW types , 4 fn sure .

Pops. In Australia, we are so fortunate to have all the audible noise from nocturnal activity.
The grunting like pigs noise Koalas make, the terrifying screech of the murderous calls from a Barn Owl, the chipper calls from one of the most beautiful evening birds , Australian Owlet Nightjar , they seem to appear almost every night I set up camp. One of the only birds whose eyes don’t reflect torch light.
Loud insects like cicadas, vibrating their rear legs, crickets much the same, Barking Owls sounding like dogs in the distance, the constant vocalisation and chatter of fruit bats, Noisy Pittas being noisy, owls of all types, especially the resonating call from a Powerful Owl.
Mournful crying and wailing from Bush Stone Curlews.
The repetitive calling nature of frogs.
It’s a cacophonous symphony that’s for sure.
I wouldn’t swap Australia’s Bush Symphony with any other countries , we’ve got the ‘hamburger with the lot’ here.
And you a very accurate with your quote about Cassowary’s and Velociraptors.

GuySmiley. Hi mate, I’m always up for engaging but last night in Tully River Gorge surrounded by peaks a little less than 2000m, totally no internet reception at all.
I do know about oDonata. I’ve not participated with them but I used to have shares in threatened species company Earth Sanctuaries until it went bust. Not in a bad way, they just expanded far too quickly.
I’m not far from Mt.Rothwell, if you ever want to spend an amazing evening committing to a worthy cause, stay overnight the nocturnal experience will change you.
My small farm is 7km from Mt Rothwell, I share my time there and with a place to stay in Torquay also, my ex and I are in the process of selling our joint property of 23 years.
I am part of Trust For Nature and Bush Heritage Fund also, I believe, put your money where your mouth is.
Don’t complain about the state of the environment, do something about it.
For fuck sake governments rarely make the right decisions environmentally, globally and here at home, our country is crap at looking after its biota, full stop.
It’s very simple, donate in a tiny minor way by a small deduction from your bank per month.
You’d never know the capital has left your bank, all the while you are assisting amazing projects.
What’s a few less coffees and Subway Rolls. Mindset change, as I always say. We can do anything. AW

A Mate of mine went 2 the Daintree to get a shot of a Cassowary .
He waited Days , but a family walked past and a juvenile's head , struck a stream of light and he got the shot of a Lifetime .

Mt. Rothwell (it’s a small bump of Devonian Granite) use to be one of Earth Sanctuary’s sites, the very northern end of the You Yangs where the terrain almost flattens, I’m just connecting the dots so you get a better understanding.
When it was relinquished by sale , new owners took over and have continued on the great work.
It’s got a fantastic feral proof fence, some captive breeding occurs there across a few genera of animals.AW

Crocs in here, can’t see 10ft in front of me, if I’m not careful there will be no feet in front of me.

Your description of the animals in a previous post , the Native Orchestra , gave me some inspiration . Gosh , what a Noise they could make , all Together .
The bloody idea came 2 me , as wanted to help promote a mates Children Music , 15 years ago :) .
U would like Billy , he is like U ( not me :) and surfs , 2 .
