Recap

Clean but easing surf from the 4ft range across the South West yesterday, tiny to the north and even smaller today with easing 2-3ft sets.

This week and next (Mar 2 - 10)

Tomorrow is still expected to be a low point in swell with clean conditions but no size.

On Friday a small pulse of mid-period S/SW swell is due, generated by pre-frontal W/NW winds moving through our swell window early yesterday.

It's only expected to be around 3ft+ in the South West and now winds are looking unfavourable, light S'ly in the morning before freshening from the S/SW during the day.

The weekend isn't looking much better with fresher S/SE tending S/SW-SW winds and small levels of weak, mid-period S/SW swell that's not likely to top 2-3ft in the South West.

Monday and more so Tuesday should offer slightly better surf as winds swing more offshore out of the E/SE along with some slightly better size S/SW swell energy.

While still not ideal in angle, a couple of strengthening storms to our south should generate fetches of strong to gale-force SW winds, with the second producing the most size for Tuesday.

Monday's looks inconsistent and only to 3ft to occasionally 4ft across the South West, tiny to the north. Tuesday's should come in at a better 3-5ft on the south swell magnets in the South West under a strong E/SE breeze.

Following this the swell will bottom out again through the end of the week ahead of some possible, new mid-period swell energy but with dicey winds next weekend. More on this in the coming updates.
