Recap

Dropping swell from Friday across the South West with an early light NE breeze, while Mandurah and Perth saw tiny bumpy 1ft surf.

Sunday saw variable winds and lumpy but workable waves to 1-2ft around Perth and Mandurah, hanging in around the 3-4ft range across the South West, but not ideal.

Today some new SW groundswell is on the build though winds were a little suspect with a light W/NW breeze across the South West, offshore early around Perth and Mandurah but tiny. The swell has kicked further this afternoon with sets to 6ft showing across the South West, but with a stiffer onshore wind.

This week and weekend (Nov 21 - 26)

Today's building SW energy is on track with strong sets starting to push in across the South West, though with onshore winds.

A secondary larger and stronger increase in SW groundswell is due through tomorrow, generated by the best fetch around the low that stalled in our south-west swell window over the weekend.

There's no change to Friday's outlook, with Margs expected to reach the 8ft range on the sets through the day, with 2-3ft waves in Mandurah and 2ft+ sets in Perth.

Winds will improve on today but only be favourable for protected breaks with a fresh S/SE'ly, giving into S/SW sea breezes.

Wednesday looks great as the swell eases from 4-6ft on the sets across the South West, 2ft in Mandurah and 1-2ft in Perth along with a morning E'ly breeze.

Thursday will also be similarly clean through the morning though much smaller as the surf continues to ease.

There's nothing major on the cards until later in the weekend, when a late forming polar frontal progression fires up.

This frontal progression was looking a little better but now has weekend, with only a moderate to large sized S/SW groundswell due into Sunday, peaking late and easing Monday.

Sets should reach 5-6ft across Margs into the afternoon with 1-2ft waves in Mandurah, and 1-1.5ft up in Perth though with what looks to be gusty S/SE-SE winds, but we'll review this Wednesday.
