Western Australia Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 21st Novemeber)

Best Days: Every morning in the South West

Recap

Workable waves across Margs Saturday morning with an early light S'ly breeze that quickly swung onshore, while Perth saw similar conditions.

A new W/SW groundswell building through yesterday provided more size across both regions but with onshore S/SW winds.

Today saw cleaner waves easing from 4-5ft in the South West and 1-2ft in Perth

This weekend (Nov 19 – 20)

We're looking at a fun week of waves across the South West, with offshore winds due every morning mainly from the E/SE along with some fun but not overly sizey swell.

Easing surf is due into tomorrow, with tiny waves around Perth to 1-1.5ft, and easing 3-5ft sets in the South West.

Wednesday morning should be more in the 3-4ft range around Margs, tiny to the north, with a new inconsistent W/SW groundswell building Thursday from a pre-frontal fetch of W/NW gales north of Heard Island.

Early, only 3ft+ surf is expected, increasing to 3-5ft through the afternoon, holding a similar size Friday morning.

Into the afternoon though a stronger but really inconsistent pulse of W/SW groundswell is due, produced by a broader and slightly stronger fetch of post-frontal W/SW gales on the backside of the pre-frontal fetch.

Margs should build to 4-5ft+ into the afternoon and ease slowly from a similar size Saturday morning, down from 3-5ft Sunday morning. Perth will only see small sets to 1-1.5ft if that.

During Saturday early E/NE winds are due to swing more NE and then NW into the afternoon ahead of a late change and then S/SE winds Sunday.

Longer term there's nothing too significant and a stubborn high will direct persistent S/SE winds across the state all next week. More on this Wednesday.
