Best Days: Thursday morning, Friday morning, Saturday morning, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings

Recap

A lift in swell but poor onshore conditions in the South West yesterday, cleaner around Perth and Mandurah early but only to 1-1.5ft.

Today the swell has eased back a touch with tiny clean waves north of Margs, and better 4-5ft sets at exposed breaks in the South West with morning SE breezes.

This week and weekend (Feb 25 - 28)

The swell should continue to ease through tomorrow with much better winds. Exposed breaks in the South West are due to drop from 3-4ft, with developing E/SE offshores ahead of afternoon sea breezes.

A small kick in S/SW groundswell from a strong polar frontal progression forming late in our swell window is due Friday, with a fetch of strong to gale-force SW winds being just within our swell window.

South swell magnets should pick up 3-4ft sets most of the day, before easing back through Saturday, with a small S/SW groundswell from the remnants of TC Uriah Sunday but only to 3ft or so.

Favourable but fresh E/NE offshores are due Friday morning with lighter E/SE breezes Saturday morning and less favourable S/SE winds ahead of a weak S/SW change Sunday.

Next week onwards (Feb 29 onwards)

Monday morning will start average onshore and small, but a relatively weak polar front pushing up towards us through the weekend and into early next week should produce a new moderate sized SW groundswell event.

The short-range mid-period swell should build later Monday and more so Tuesday, building to 4-5ft through the afternoon ahead of a peak Wednesday morning to 4-6ft or so.

Perth should build later Tuesday to 1-2ft, easing from a similar size Wednesday morning.

Winds will be less than ideal and from the S/SE tending S/SW Tuesday with SE winds Wednesday morning.

Longer term some further similar sized SW groundswell pulses are due into the end of the week as SE winds continue, but we'll have another look at this Friday.
