Make the most of the coming days
Southern Tasmanian Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday July 22nd)
Best Days: Today, tomorrow, Wednesday
Features of the Forecast (tl;dr)
- Moderate sized W/SW groundswell this afternoon, easing tomorrow with gusty but easing N/NW winds
- Smaller Wed with strong N/NE tending NE-N/NE winds
Recap
Generally tiny surf all weekend, increasing a touch yesterday while this morning started slow but a strong pulse of new W/SW groundswell has kicked to 3ft this afternoon with clean conditions.
This week and weekend (Jul 23 - 28)
This afternoon’s increase in W/SW groundswell was generated by a strong Southern Ocean frontal progression over the weekend and we should see it easing from a similar size tomorrow morning.
Clifton should see 3ft sets most of tomorrow, easing back through Wednesday from a smaller 2ft.
Conditions look great tomorrow with a gusty but easing N/NW breeze, similar Wednesday with strong N/NE tending NE-N/NE winds on Wednesday as the swell fades.
Make the most of this swell as the rest of the week looks tiny.
A small W’ly swell is due later Thursday but more so Friday morning, but it is being generated too far north of our swell window and not topping 1ft.
The next increase in sizeable swell looks to come from a small low forming under us on the weekend.
Swell wise, it looks a bit short-lived but we should see a spike in new SW energy later Sunday but more so Monday along with offshore NW winds.
More on this Wednesday.
