Recap

We saw fun surf on the weekend with a new mid-period SW swell and clean conditions, less so today as a low to our north-east drops down the coast, bringing freshening onshore winds.

This week and weekend (Jun 4 - 9)

A fresh pulse of E/SE swell was expected to build through today and peak through tomorrow, but the low generating it, off our East Coast didn’t quite drift far enough south, into our southern swell window.

Instead we’ve seen a brief fetch of strong E’ly winds that might generate a small 1-2ft pulse tomorrow morning, easing into the afternoon.

Further down the coast more size is due but with variable W/SW winds due. Early Clifton should see light offshore winds.

Also in the mix will be a tiny, inconsistent W/SW groundswell but no size over 1-2ft is due from this.

We then look at a very lean run of surf for the rest of the period thanks to the storm track being focussed up towards Western Australia.

A fetch of strong to gale-force W/NW-NW winds may generate a slim pulse to 1-2ft Friday, fading through the weekend but it’s not worth worrying too much about. With this outlook it might be worth checking the East Coast notes for the coming days.
