Recap
Small, but clean 1-2ft waves yesterday, while today the size has dropped back a notch more.
This weekend and next (Feb 17 - 23)
It looks like we'll reach a temporary low point in swell activity tomorrow morning ahead of some new mid-period swell and groundswell mix into the afternoon and Sunday.
The mid-period energy has been generated by weak frontal systems moving under the country the last few days, with the groundswell produced in our far swell window.
A kick to 1-2ft is due tomorrow afternoon, more so 2ft on Sunday.
Conditions will be clean tomorrow ahead of sea breezes, with Sunday seeing NW tending variable winds ahead of a late W/SW breeze.
Our new mid-period swell for Monday now looks a little weaker, with the frontal system linked to it now being quite as strong as it moves in Sunday.
Still, a good fetch of strong W'ly winds should generate a fun kick in size to 2ft+, easing from 1-2ft on Tuesday.
Unfortunately winds on Monday still look dicey with a moderate to fresh W/SW breeze due to shift S and then S/SE through the day, better Tuesday with N/NE offshores, tending E'ly through the day and freshening.
Following this little run of swell the outlook goes a little quiet with a down period ahead of some new W'ly swell later next week/weekend from a strong but average positioned low under the country. We'll have a closer look at this on Monday though. Have a great weekend!
