Recap

Tiny surf the last two days, but some new W/SW swell should be starting to show this afternoon though with gusty E/NE winds.

This weekend and next week (Nov 6 – 12)

There's no change to our pulses of tiny W/SW swell from this afternoon through Monday, with an initial increase this afternoon due to hold tomorrow to 1-1.5ft. This was generated by a relatively weak mid-latitude frontal progression moving through our swell window, under Western Australia.

The swell will ease Sunday morning ahead of an additional pulse later Sunday and Monday morning to a similar 1-1.5ft.

Winds will be best tomorrow and Monday with strong NE winds, shifting N/NE for a period tomorrow, while a trough will bring strong S/SW-SW tending lighter S/SE winds on Sunday. Monday should see variable breeze all day ahead of another trough approaching from the west.

This may bring weak though easing S'ly winds pre-dawn Tuesday but if so, they'll tend variable through the morning ahead of SE sea breezes.

Our new pulse of W/SW swell for Tuesday is on track, but the low generating it looks to be positioned a touch further north than was forecast on Wednesday. This will result in slightly less size with surf to 2ft due across Clifton, fading Wednesday with unfavourable S/SE winds.

Longer term, a large, blocking high will put a cap on any major swell generating systems firing up from the south-west of Western Australia, but we'll see weak fronts firing up south-west of us later next week. This looks to bring a bit of swell but winds look to remain an issue and out of the south to south-east. More on this in Monday's update. Have a great weekend!
