Recap

Wednesday's S/SE groundswell eased back in size yesterday from a clean 1-2ft and today we've got tiny surf.

This weekend and next week (July 3 - 9)

The weekend will remain tiny as a strong mid-latitude low that's formed west of us sits too high to generate any swell. The main swell generating fetch is aimed into South Australia as well.

From next week though we'll see some favourable polar frontal activity, which will persist from Sunday through Wednesday. This should provide fun pulses of S/SW swell for the South Arm and besides Tuesday (unfortunately when it'll be biggest), conditions will be favourable.

An initial, small, inconsistent SW swell should be seen Monday, from broad, weak pre-frontal W/NW winds, south of WA today. Don't expect much over 1-1.5ft and with a NW tending W breeze.

Of greater significance is a good fetch of strong to gale-force W/SW winds developing south-west of us on Sunday, then projecting SW-S/SW, into us while weakening on Tuesday.

This will bring Tuesday's onshore winds, strong from the S/SW but also a good pulse of mid-period S/SW swell to 3ft+.

The front will clear to the east Tuesday evening, with winds swinging back N/NW on Wednesday morning, variable from the E into the afternoon. This will be with easing, fun 2-3ft sets from the S/SW.

A secondary weaker front should produce a reinforcing S/SW swell Thursday to 2ft+, easing from 2ft on Friday. Morning N/NW winds are due to tend variable NE, creating favourable conditions.

Longer term the outlook remains slow, so make the most of next week's swells. Have a great weekend!
