Junky S/SE windswell with nothing until next week
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 17th December)
Best Days: Tomorrow for keen surfers, possibly early Wednesday, next week
Recap
Nothing to note over the weekend and a small increase in flukey swell due today looks to not have really made an impact.

This week and weekend (Dec 18 - 23)
A southerly change that's moved through today is linked to a broad low that's dominated the weather across the south-east of the country since late last week.
We're seeing a fetch of strong S/SE winds projected through our southern swell window and we can expect a junky but surfable S/SE windswell tomorrow to 2-3ft but with onshore S/SE winds but only moderate in strength, tending more SE through the day as the swell eases.
Wednesday will be cleaner with an early N'ly breeze though small fading 1-1.5ft sets, if that.
There's nothing of significance into the end of the week or start of the weekend, with just a possible weak tiny 1ft of W/SW swell Friday and Saturday but with onshore S/SW winds.
Of greater importance is the likely development of a vigorous frontal progression directly west-southwest of us through the weekend and early next week.
If all goes as currently forecast we could see a moderate to possibly large sized W/SW swell developing for Christmas Day with strong W'ly winds, but more on this in Wednesday's update.
