Today’s Forecaster Notes are brought to you by Rip Curl
This weekend and next week (Dec 8 - 14)
Tiny to flat surf will continue over the weekend, with nothing significant due until later Sunday and more so Monday morning across the region.
As per Wednesday's notes, a strong front that was too far north of our swell window is now dipping east-southeast from under WA and more into our swell window.
A fetch of strong W/NW winds are being generated in our western swell window, with this fetch looking a little less favourable than forecast on Wednesday, but we should still hopefully see 1-2ft sets on Monday morning across Clifton when the swell peaks. Our small window of W/NW winds is still expected, giving into a SW change mid-morning.
We've got a couple of small to tiny follow up W/SW swells into the rest of the week, the first for Tuesday, generated by a weak front generating W'ly winds in our swell window.
This is likely to maintain 1-1.5ft waves with N/NE tending fresh NE and then E winds, while a distant but stronger fetch of W'ly gales looks to produce a slightly better swell for Thursday.
Sets to 1-2ft should be seen Thursday morning but a surface trough unfortunately looks to bring onshore S/SW tending S'ly winds, SE into Friday with another small pulse of swell.
We'll review this all Monday so check back then for an update. Have a great weekend!
