Fun weekend, poor next week
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 12 th October)
Best Days: Saturday and Sunday
Recap
Fun clean easing waves from 2ft yesterday, while today a new SW tending S/SW groundswell was already coming in at 2-3ft, with a peak due this afternoon to 3ft, but sea breezes are spoiling it.

This weekend and next week (Oct 13 – 19)
Today's swell should ease back from a fun 2ft+ tomorrow morning and with N/NW tending N/NE winds providing plenty of fun options.
We've now got a new pulse of S/SW swell for Sunday with a late forming polar front south-west of us last night, generating a fetch of W/SW gales in our southern swell window today.
This should keep 1-2ft sets hitting Clifton on Sunday with a gusty N/NE breeze.
From here we've got nothing of significance through next week with strong and distant storms firing up south-west of WA being too north and out of our swell window to generate any decent swell.
A small surface low moving across us later week may bring a poor SE windswell but the models diverge on this.
Therefore make the most of the weekend's waves.
