This week and weekend (May 26 – Jun 1)
We'll see our large S/SW groundswell from yesterday and today easing steadily overnight, much smaller tomorrow, but backed up by a reinforcing S/SE pulse from the backside of the polar storm generating the swell.
Clifton should still see 2-3ft waves tomorrow morning, easing through the day under a N/NW tending E breeze.
Sunday morning's new S/SW groundswell is still on track, with a low to our south-southwest generating a good polar fetch of W/SW gales.
Fun 2ft+ waves are due Sunday morning, easing through the day under a N/NW tending N/NE breeze.
A mix of W/SW groundswells are due Tuesday to 1-2ft, the first being generated by a polar fetch W/NW gales currently east of Heard Island, in our far swell window.
A secondary closer-range but more west swell is expected off a tight and intense but south-east tracking low forming south of the Bight Sunday evening, moving into our swell window quickly Monday.
Winds should shift from the N/NW to W/NW through Tuesday ahead of a late W/SW change.
Following this we've got small background W/SW swells due Wednesday/Thursday but with dicey winds. More on this Monday.
Have a great weekend!
