Poor weekend, better next week
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 11th May)
Best Days: Monday, Wednesday morning, Thursday
Recap
Tiny onshore waves yesterday, kicking a bit through the afternoon with a larger messier S/SE swell today though not huge.
Today’s Forecaster Notes are brought to you by Rip Curl
This week and weekend (May 12 - 18)
These notes will be short as Ben's away on holidays.
The severe low responsible for our wild weather will weaken and push away through tomorrow, resulting in small levels of easing SE windswell along with fresh to strong S'ly winds.
Sunday will be smaller again along with lingering S/SW winds.
A return to offshores is expected Monday morning along with a new S/SW groundswell, generated by a late forming fetch of polar severe-gales tomorrow.
We'll hopefully see 2ft surf with a nice morning NW offshore, variable into the afternoon,
A stronger polar low forming earlier in our swell window should generate a severe-gale fetch of pre-frontal W/NW winds and a good new SW groundswell for late Tuesday and Wednesday morning. We're looking at 2ft to maybe 3ft sets early Wednesday with an offshore, while a larger SW groundswell is on the cards for Thursday, but more on this Monday.
Have a great weekend!
