Best Days: Saturday exposed breaks, Tuesday morning

Recap

Tiny clean waves yesterday morning, near flat this morning. A new W/SW swell is due this afternoon and the readings off Cape Sorell are favourable as well as the local winds.

This weekend and next week (Sep 23 – 29)

The small W/SW due this afternoon is expected to ease off through tomorrow from 1-1.5ft, though there may be the odd stray 2ft set early. Conditions look good with a N/NW tending N/NE breeze.

Sunday is then due to be flat and our next increase in swell is expected very late Monday but more so Tuesday morning.

This weak and short-lived swell will be generated by a fetch of strong W/SW tending SW winds moving across us on the backside of a mid-latitude low pushing east across the country.

We should see 2ft+ of S/SW swell for Tuesday morning and with the system moving off quickly to the west, winds should tend W/NW through the morning.

The longer term outlook is quite exciting with a strong node of the Long Wave Trough due to strengthen through the Bight and move slowly east later next week.

With this we'll see a series of strong polar fronts getting stronger and stronger from mid-next week through late week and into the weekend.

With this we're due to see a pro-longed period of SW to W/SW groundswell from Thursday through until at least early the following week.

More on this Monday though, have a great weekend!
