Dicey W swell tomorrow, better S swell Sunday
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 11th August)
Best Days: Keen surfers protetced spots Saturday morning, Sunday, early Monday
Recap
A small SE swell across the coast yesterday, best at exposed breaks, while today the swell faded with tiny clean leftovers.
This weekend and next week (Aug 12 - 18)
I'm still worried about the direction of tomorrow's W'ly swell, with a great fetch of gale to severe-gale W'ly winds, just in our swell window producing this swell. The front will pass across us this afternoon and evening, hopefully leaving 2ft waves across Clifton tomorrow with W'ly tending W/SW winds.
The swell will likely easing into the afternoon, with Sunday now looking tiny out of the west.
New S'ly swell will overtake this easing W'ly swell, with a good fetch of strong S'ly winds being projected from polar latitudes, up towards us during this evening and tomorrow.
A fun sized S'ly swell should come in at 2ft to possibly 3ft across Clifton Sunday along with favourable N/NW tending N/NE winds.
The swell will ease quickly overnight Sunday, leaving 2ft sets across Clifton with N/NW tending W/NW winds.
From here there's nothing due at all across the South Arm until later next week, with a broad and slow moving low currently positioned south-west of WA, moving slowly east through next week while staying north of our swell window.
Therefore make the most of the weekend's waves.
