Small to tiny surf to continue
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 4th December)
Best Days: Tuesday morning
Recap
A continuation of tiny waves yesterday and today ideal for beginners but not decent enough for more toured surfers.
This weekend and next week (Dec 5 - 11)
Tomorrow is expected to start tiny and onshore with a shallow S/SW tending S/SE change moving through, spoiling a slight kick in long-range SW groundswell during the afternoon.
This swell isn't expected to offer much above 1-1.5ft, easing from a similar size Sunday morning with early variable winds, increasing from the SE through the day.
Monday is expected to remain tiny, but our fun kick in S/SW groundswell for Tuesday is still on track, with a healthy polar frontal system due to fire up in our southern swell window over the weekend,
The strength of the front has been upgraded a little and we should see better and more consistent 2ft sets as it peaks early Tuesday, easing into the afternoon. Fresh to strong N/NE winds will favour selected locations over others though.
Come Wednesday the swell is expected be tiny, and a weak mid-latitude low moving in from the west bringing W/SW winds may kick up 1ft+ of W/SW swell for Thursday, but a better S'ly fetch at its base may generate 1-2ft of S'ly swell for Friday. We'll have another look at this on Monday though.
Longer term there's a fun W/SW swell on the cards for next weekend, but more on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
