Slow period continues
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 2nd December)
Best Days: Thursday morning, Sunday morning exposed breaks, Tuesday morning
Recap
Tiny levels of W/SW swell yesterday and today, only really surfable for beginners.
This week and weekend (Dec 3 - 6)
While the last two days haven't really offered much chance for a surfable wave, tomorrow is likely the best of the coming few days.
A weak front moving in from the west yesterday and today should produce a bit more size across Clifton tomorrow to 1-2ft and with morning W/NW winds, swinging onshore through the afternoon.
Friday will then likely be tiny again with NW offshores ahead of SE sea breezes.
Into the weekend tiny surf is expected to continue, and while the models are showing a slight uptick in size Saturday afternoon and Sunday, the source of this swell was in the Heard Island region and we'll struggle to see any real size above 1ft+.
Onshore winds are due Saturday in any case from the SW tending S/SE, but E/NE winds Sunday morning should favour more exposed breaks.
Next week onwards (December 7 onwards)
Tiny to small surf is due early next week, with Tuesday morning providing the most size to 1-2ft from a fresh S/SW pulse.
This will be generated by a small polar front Friday and Saturday.
Later in the week another small 1-2ft pulse is due, but we'll have another look at this Friday.
