Short window Saturday morning, cleaner fading swell Sunday
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 13th November)
Best Days: Dawn Saturday, Sunday morning for beginners, Tuesday
Recap
Fun clean easing 1-2ft waves yesterday morning, while today was tiny and ideal for beginners.
This weekend and next week (Nov 14 - 20)
A good pulse of inconsistent W/SW groundswell is due tomorrow to 2ft or so across Clifton, but winds are real dicey. We should see a light offshore at first light, but a S/SE change is due an hour or two after this, so don't dawdle.
Sunday should be cleaner as the swell eases from 1ft to maybe 2ft.
Monday is due to be tiny, but a new swell for Tuesday is now looking better. This will be generated by a strengthening but relatively weak polar front to our south-west over the weekend, with Clifton likely to see fun 1-2ft sets building later Monday, peaking Tuesday to 2ft+.
Winds are looking good for this swell Tuesday with a N/NW tending W/NW breeze as the swell eases into the afternoon.
Then into Wednesday a small weak mid-latitude low pushing across us is due to kick up an afternoon increase in W/SW windswell, reaching 1-2ft into the afternoon but with onshores and easing from a similar size Thursday morning as winds kick back to the N/NW.
Longer term there's nothing too major on the cards, but we'll review this Monday. Have a great weekend!
