Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 12th December)

Best Days: Saturday, Sunday morning, Monday morning for beginners, Wednesday morning

Recap

The surf has continued in the tiny 1ft range the last few days with onshores yesterday and morning offshores this morning.

This weekend (Dec 13 - 14)

There's been no change to tomorrow's good SW groundswell pulse with Clifton due to offer 2-3ft sets during the morning under offshore N'ly winds that will swing NE into the afternoon and strengthen.

Sunday will be easing from 2ft and clean with a N/NW'ly ahead of a SE sea breezes.

Monday onwards (Dec 15 onwards)

Monday still looks marginal as the weekend's swell continues to ease from 1-1.5ft or so but conditions will be great with a morning N/NW breeze creating ideal conditions for beginners.

Our small W/SW groundswell pulse due Wednesday is still on track but again we're not expected to see any major size above 1-2ft across Clifton later Tuesday and Wednesday as the frontal activity generating it rides too high up through the Bight.

One of these fronts pushing across us Wednesday will add a similar sized windswell to the mix upping the consistency of the swell. Conditions will be best Wednesday morning with a W/NW breeze, so make the most of this small window of OK conditions.

Besides another pulse of W/SW swell late in the week possibly to 1-2ft, there's nothing too major on the cards unfortunately. Therefore make the most of tomorrow and Sunday's waves. Have a great weekend!
