Poor swells and winds to continue
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 3rd December)
Best Days: No great days
Recap
Nothing of significance across the coast the last few days and with poor onshore winds.
This week and weekend (Dec 4 - 7)
The outlook still remains poor for the South Arm with tiny levels of swell and poor winds to end the week, flowing on into the weekend.
A slight kick in weak S/SE windswell due Friday will be met with fresh E/NE tending SE winds, while onshore SE winds will create even poorer conditions into Saturday. Sunday should see winds revert back to the E/NE as a small SW groundswell fills in, coming in at 1-2ft across Clifton.
This should be generated by a strong polar frontal system firing up to the south of WA tomorrow aiming a fetch W/NW gales through our south-western swell window. With the E/NE winds, locations away from the South Arm will be best and bigger.
Next week onwards (Dec 8 onwards)
Sunday's small kick in SW groundswell should ease back through Monday from a tiny 1ft+ or so and winds will be more favourable and offshore from the N'th through the morning.
Longer term there's still nothing major on the cards at all besides some long-range W/SW groundswell later in the week. More on this Friday.
