Tiny with poor winds
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 1st December)
Best Days: Thursday and Friday exposed breaks
Recap
Saturday started as expected with a tiny swell and onshore winds, but a solid kick in new SW groundswell was seen through the afternoon.
This swell peaked overnight but held well into Sunday morning with good 3ft sets across Clifton. Winds were less than favourable and from the NE though, favouring locations away from the South Arm.
The swell eased through the afternoon and really bottomed out today with onshore winds.
This week and weekend (Dec 2 - 7)
Unfortunately there's nothing significant on the cards at all due this week and winds will become poor as well. Tomorrow morning will be clean but tiny, with a slight increase in SW swell later in the day, peaking Wednesday morning is due to be met with a developing onshore SE breeze.
Thursday will remain poor with fresh to strong E/NE winds and a small to tiny S/SW swell, favouring exposed breaks away from the South Arm.
Some weak S/SE windswell is on the cards for Friday through Sunday as a deepening surface trough pushing in from the west aims a fetch of strengthening S/SE winds into us.
A peak in size is due Saturday evening and Sunday morning, but winds will be onshore from the S/SE Saturday and SE Sunday.
Next week onwards (Dec 8 onwards)
There's still nothing major on the cards for the longer term with tiny to small and inconsistent levels of background swell due through next week with average winds. More on this Wednesday though.
