Average weekend, not much better next week
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 31st October)
Best Days: Saturday morning, Monday morning, Tuesday morning all for marignal waves
Recap
Yesterday started out small as we fell in between swells, but a strong increase in size was seen through the afternoon as a strong new SW groundswell filled in. Unfortunately onshore winds created average conditions. Today was the day to surf though with the swell ease from 3ft with all day offshore winds across Clifton.
This weekend (Nov 1 - 2)
There won't be much swell left across the coast tomorrow with inconsistent 1-2ft leftovers along Clifton under fresh W/NW tending W/SW winds.
A strong cold front will push across us during the evening, but unfortunately the bulk of the fetch will be too north of us and out of our swell window, with a secondary fetch of SW gales pushing up into us during Sunday being a better swell producer.
Still we should see Clifton come in at 2-3ft from the W/SW Sunday morning ahead of a better swell from the S/SW into the late afternoon and Monday morning to 2ft+.
Unfortunately winds will be onshore from the SW tending S/SW Sunday, but we should see winds become variable into Monday and even tend light offshore from the NW during the morning before SE sea breezes kick in.
Monday onwards (Nov 3 onwards)
As touched on above a drop in S'ly swell with variable winds is due Monday, while Tuesday should see fading S/SE swell on the back of the front under N'ly tending N/NE winds.
Longer term there's nothing major on the cards at all, so make the most of today's swell and the flukier conditions Monday/Tuesday.
