Improving conditions with no swell, good W/SW swell late week
South Australian Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 5th February)
Best Days: Mid Coast later Thursday and Friday
Recap
No swell on the Mid Coast and a poor sloppy S/SE windswell down South with lighter E'ly winds Saturday morning, more variable Sunday morning with a touch less size.
This morning we saw cleaner conditions with a fading mix of S/SW and S/SE swells, best suited to Waits and Parsons.

This week and weekend (Feb 6 - 11)
Over the coming days as winds continue to slowly improve we'll see the swell continue to ease.
Today's mix of S/SE windswell and background S/SW swell will fade through tomorrow, tiny Wednesday and similar Thursday morning.
Tomorrow's conditions are looking dicey with a light E/SE'ly down South ahead of S/SE sea breezes, better Wednesday morning with a variable tending light offshore wind but you'll struggle to find even 1-2ft waves at Waits. Middleton will be near flat.
Similar conditions are expected Thursday with no swell.
The Mid Coast however should see some fun W/SW swell building into the afternoon, peaking Friday.
This is being generated by a small strong mid-latitude low sitting south-west of WA, directing a fetch of strong to gale-force W/SW winds through our western swell window from today through early tomorrow before breaking down.
This should generate a good W/SW groundswell that will favour the Mid Coast, building to 1-1.5ft later in the day and peaking Friday to 2ft on the favourable parts of the tide.
The South Coast isn't due to see much size due to the west direction, with Friday offering infrequent 2ft sets from about Day St to Goolwa.
A morning E/NE-NE breeze should favour both regions Friday morning, while a trough moving in on the weekend will bring back onshore S'ly winds.
Some new SW swell is due over the weekend as the W/SW swell fades, generated by weaker polar frontal activity on the backside of the low, but more on this Wednesday.
