This weekend and next week (Nov 25 – Dec 1)

The coming forecast period isn't looking good at all until mid-next week.

Over the weekend we'll see the W/SW swell continuing to fade, leaving tiny to flat waves on the Mid Coast, while the South Coast will see onshore winds from the S'th tending S/SW spoiling the tiny weak fading swell.

Sunday will see onshore winds persisting from the SW-S/SW as the swell continues to fade.

Our good new SW groundswell due early next week is still on track, with a vigorous polar frontal system forming south-west of WA last night, with a great fetch of W/SW gales being generated through our swell window.

This is generating an inconsistent but good SW groundswell for Monday, building through the afternoon peaking overnight and easing Tuesday.

We should Middleton building to 3ft through the late afternoon, while the Mid Coast should see infrequent 1-1.5ft sets pushing in with the tide.

A drop back to 2-3ft and 1ft respectively are due into Tuesday, though a reinforcing pulse is due later in the afternoon and more so Wednesday morning, from a secondary smaller polar front pushing in behind the initila strong low.

Middleton should hang in at 2ft+, while the Mid Coast only looks to offer 0.5-1ft sets.

Winds on Monday will be best for the Mid Coast with a SE tending S/SE breeze, while Tuesday morning should see E/NE-NE winds developing down South, creating much better conditions, even cleaner Wednesday with a N/NE offshore.

From here onwards there's no significant swell due, with fading surf into the end of the week, with offshore winds again Thursday morning, ahead of a likely onshore change Friday and building windswell. More on this Monday though. Have a great weekend!
