Recap

Tiny NE windswells to 1-1.5ft yesterday under fresh NW winds have contoinued into today with NW winds tending more W'ly in the a'noon.

This weekend and next week (Sep6 - Sep 13)

No great change to the weekend f/cast. High pressure is moving NE in the Tasman and a series of zonal fronts are bringing fresh and gusty NW-W winds over the state, expected to continue over the weekend.

Surf-wise not much on offer for Sat with minor N’ly windswells at best, offering up a micro wave in the 1ft range.

Sunday sees a stronger NW flow out of Bass Strait that may generate some larger N’ly windswell wrap in the a’noon, up to 2 occ.3ft under fresh and gusty NW-W winds.

Into next week and with high pressure to the north and zonal fronts continuing we’ll see strong W’ly ridging remain in place. Expect fresh NW-W winds Mon and some small S swell from the passage of the front under Tas. Nothing significant though, just a small 1 occ. 2ft wave at S facing beaches.
That will drop back to tiny/flat on Tues and extending into Wed. We should see a late S’ly change Wed as a trough crosses the NW of Tas.

Late next week we’ll see a more significant system develop as a trough deepens into a low off the NSW South or Central Coast. Those winds may be a little too far north for Tas but we should still see some meaningful swell develop Fri. We’ll see how it looks on Mon but for now we’ll pencil in some potentially sizey S swell for Fri, possibly extending into next week as reinforcing fronts pushing into the Tasman and a strong high moves south of the Bight.

Let's see how this low looks on Mon

Let's see how that looks Mon and until then, have a great weekend!
