Small N/NE swell followed by S/SE next week
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday October 15)
Best Days: Southern corners Tuesday when the change hits, possibly Thursday morning
Features of the Forecast (tl;dr)
- Tiny weekend with offshore winds
- Pulse of N/NE windswell Tue with NW tending gusty S/SE winds
- S/SE windswell Wed with SW tending SE winds
- Possible better S/SE swell Thu with W tending E winds
Recap
A fun mix of N/NE windswell and building S groundswell yesterday with improving conditions, tiny and easing today with average winds thanks to a trough.
This weekend and next week (Oct 16 - 22)
There's nothing of note for the weekend ahead with tiny surf and better options across the South Arm.
Into next week we'll see a classic infeed of strengthening N/NE winds ahead of a trough and S/SE change through Tuesday.
This should see building N/NE sets to 2-3ft during the day on Tuesday with winds quickly shifting from the NW to S/SE and with strength, limiting options. The change will also kick up some new S'ly windswell to 2-3ft or so on Wednesday but with SW tending SE winds.
Similar sized levels of S/SE swell may be seen on Thursday but a high pressure ridge moving in from the west may see onshore E winds develop along with some localised E windswell next weekend. More on this Monday. Have a great weekend.
