Recap

Tiny 1ft surf yesterday has eased even further to close to dead flat today with freshening NW winds tending W/SW-SW in the a’noon.

This weekend and next (Aug 19 - 25)

No great change to the weekend outlook. Not much swell on offer unfortunately. Todays frontal passage and a brief flush of SW winds will leave a small S swell in the water tomorrow but it’ll be lucky to be much over 1-1.5ft under W’ly winds tending W/NW in the a’noon.

Frontal passage overnight may leave some just-rideable S swell in the water- not much else happening

Similarly small on Sun with just an outside chance of a tiny, rideable wave from the S under similar W winds which tend more NW-W/NW in the a’noon.

Zonal fronts continue into next week with swells too west to wrap into NE Tas. Expect tiny surf Mon with a chance of some just rideable NE windswell Tues as NW winds in Bass Strait and a N’ly fetch off the NSW Coast combine. Any swell will be small and fleeting however.

Tiny surf mid next week with the next chance of a wave another fleeting small flush of NE windswell Fri if a high pressure moving into the Tasman behaves as modelled. Nothing to get excited about though, just 1-2ft at best.

A frontal intrusion into the Tasman offers the best hope for a wave next weekend. Models are offering divergent resolutions but we may see frontal SW winds adjacent to the Island produce some small S swells next weekend.

Check back Mon for the latest and until then have a great weekend!
