Recap

Fading surf with just a junky NE windswell in the water today.

Small increase in junky NE windswell this arv

This weekend and next week (Feb 18 - 24)

Tomorrow is the best chance for a surf across the region as we see the small NE windswell that's in the water today easing from the 2ft range as a trough brings a S/SW change, shifting SE and then E/NE into the afternoon.

There's nothing significant due into Sunday with fading, tiny NE windswell sets along with light morning offshore winds and afternoon NE sea breezes.

To our south, a significant, 'bombing low' will push east rapidly through Sunday evening and early Monday, but the storm-force fetch will be aimed W/NW (shown left), resulting in only some tiny, S'ly groundswell spreading radially up and into us Monday afternoon.

Up the coast, south magnets may see stray 1-2ft sets but with poor, onshore winds as another trough lingers off the coast.

Following this, a weak front will bring 2ft of S windswell Tuesday afternoon though with onshore winds, fading Wednesday.

There is some better NE windswell potential later next week as a high moves in to the Tasman Sea, squeezed by a low in the Bight, with increasing NE winds due to develop down our coast.

No major strength is forecast at this stage but a 2-3ft wave is likely along with gusty NE winds. More on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
