Get stuck in tomorrow
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 20th July)
Best Days: South magnets tomorrow and Wednesday/Thursday for the desperate
Recap
Pumping waves all weekend with later Friday's strong pulse of E'ly hanging in Saturday morning with great conditions, smaller and still fun Sunday but now gone. A new S'ly swell has offered some fun waves for the keen today but to no major size.
This week and weekend (Jul 21 – 26)
The strengthening cold front currently pushing up past us is generating a building S'ly swell which is expected to peak tomorrow morning across the region.
While not overly strong we should see fun 3ft+ waves across northern corners, much smaller in more protected spots.
The swell is weaker than expected on Friday but winds better, W/NW tending variable W/SW-SW.
Wednesday looks small and to 1-2ft with similar W'ly tending variable winds, while a weak and broad front passing under us during the day will likely keep small 1-2ft sets persisting through Thursday.
Following this there's nothing significance on the cards for the weekend, but into next week we may see a deepening surface trough come Tasman Low forming off the NSW south coast again.
What this system does and the swell potential for us is still up in the air so keep an eye on the coming updates Wednesday and Friday.
