Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 29th June)

Best Days: No good days until possibly the weekend

Recap

A good pulse of stronger E/NE groundswell with great conditions on Saturday, easing back in size and energy yesterday though still fun and to 2-3ft.

Today the swell has all bit gone and it's tiny.

This week and weekend (June 30 – Jul 3)

With the swell episode from the SE and E now gone, there's nothing really of significance for our region for the coming week.

The surf will remain tiny to flat through tomorrow and Wednesday, while there may be a micro N'ly windswell for Thursday morning, but the winds generating this are so short-lived and poorly aimed. I wouldn't expect anything over 1ft.

A weak mid-latitude low moving across us on the weekend will project a fetch of strong S/SW winds up past us from Saturday through the weekend though the models diverge on the timing of the best swell generating fetches.

Size wise it looks to be around 3ft or so when the best pulse fills in, but more on the timing and local winds Wednesday.

Longer term we'll see small pulses of S'ly swell mid-late week ahead of a possible stronger event on Friday/Saturday, but more on this Wednesday.
