Poor weekend, better surf developing next week
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 29th May)
Best Days: Mid-next week onwards
Recap
Tiny leftovers yesterday and today to 1-1.5ft, best for beginners.
This weekend and next week (May 30 – Jun 5)
The only thing on for this weekend is a small and weak N'ly windswell for Sunday and when it peaks winds will be poor for the locations seeing the size.
A strong and elongated fetch of N/NW winds will develop off the southern NSW coast and extend down to us tomorrow evening, pushing away early morning with small 2ft sets possible across the north swell magnets early Sunday.
Strong but easing N/NW winds will create poor conditions at these locations though.
Now moving into the middle of next week, the models are starting to converge regarding a couple of polar systems moving under the state and then up past us Wednesday.
With this we're due to see a mix of short-range S'ly swell and S'ly groundswell building Wednesday, with some follow up swell on the cards out of the E/SE if a broader Tasman Low forms over New Zealand.
These secondary developments are yet to be confirmed so check back here Monday for a greater idea on how next week and weekend will play out. Have a great weekend!
