Poor outlook for the coast
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 11th May)
Best Days: No good days, check the South Arm Forecaster Notes
Recap
A mix of N/NE windswell and new S'ly groundswell Saturday with good conditions all day for the south magnets, improving across open beaches through the day.
Yesterday the swell eased back from 2ft+ on the south swell magnets, tiny today.
This week and weekend (May 12 - 17)
As touched on last update, there's nothing significant at all on the cards for the coming period.
Strengthening N/NW winds down and off the coast tomorrow will be poor for swell generation with a junky and sloppy 1-2ft wave possibly developing on the the north swell magnets, but conditions will be terrible here.
Wednesday will be cleaner but hardly 0.5-1ft if that.
A polar front pushing up towards the state tomorrow will be too far west to generate any swell for us and when it pushes across us Wednesday winds will go zonal and out of the W/SW.
A tiny SE groundswell is showing on the charts late week, but its source can't be identified and into the weekend it looks unlikely that we'll see any decent windswell from the N'th as a cold front moves in.
Therefore check the South Arm Forecaster Notes for an opportunity to surf.
