Make the most of the weekend
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 8th May)
Best Days: Saturday and Sunday on the south swell magnets
Recap
No surf yesterday or today.
This weekend and next week (May 9 - 15)
With the lack of the swell the last few days, we look forward to tomorrow's new pulse of S'ly groundswell across the coast.
This swell was generated by a strong low forming south-west of New Zealand yesterday, with a fetch of severe-gale S-S/SW winds being generated just within our swell window.
This should provide a good spike in size out of the south tomorrow to 3ft on the south swell magnets, there may even be the odd sneaky bigger one at times if we're lucky.
Conditions look ideal for the south swell magnets with a gusty N/NW breeze, shifting W/SW later afternoon.
Sunday should see all day offshore winds but the swell will be easing from 2ft to possibly 3ft.
From here the outlook is tiny until we see a possible new S'ly swell later next week. If it comes through it will be generated by a strong polar low projecting north-east towards us, but we'll have a closer look at this on Monday. Have a great weekend!
