Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 4th May)

Best Days: Tomorrow south swell magnets

Recap

A slow start to Saturday with a small S'ly swell from the base of a strong low that moved east and offshore through the day. With this the swell built more locally and a peak in size was seen yesterday with clean 3-5ft+ waves.

This morning the swell was a fun and easing 3-4ft, smaller this afternoon.

This week and weekend (May 5 - 10)

I hope you made the most of yesterday's and today's S'ly swell as the coming period is looking very slow again.

There may be a small 2ft wave left out of the south tomorrow, but keep your expectations low. Conditions will be clean most of the day though for the south swell magnets.

Unfortunately there's no other source of swell for the coming period with the westerly storm track firing up in a zonal pattern just west of the state through this week.

The Tasman Sea will remain quiet and fetches out of the north will be too west to generate any surfable swell.

Check back here for an update on when we might next see a decent wave or check out the South Arm Forecaster Notes.
