Nothing to recommend this period
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 24th January)
Best Days: Check the South Arm forecast
Recap
Surprisingly less size than expected both yesterday and today across the coast, especially seeing the start of the week performing well. Also the southern NSW coast came in above forecasts with 4-6ft of NE swell later yesterday and this morning, so for there to be nothing on offer this morning is a shame.
This weekend and next week (Jan 25 - 31)
Unfortunately the last two days were the last two real surfable days for the coming period with nothing of significance at all due on the weekend or next week.
The north-east swell showing tomorrow is a mix of background energy, and with today not performing well at all I can't see any surfable waves for tomorrow.
A series of cold fronts moving across the south-east of the country will keep the Tasman Sea void of any major swell generating systems until next weekend.
We may see a weak ridge generating a small N/NE windswell for next Saturday, but this is a long way down the track. Beyond this a strong and established trade-flow looks to develop in the Coral Sea, generating some possible building E/NE trade-swell later next week. More on this Monday though and check the South Arm forecast. Have a great weekend!
