A touch more activity, but weak
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 13th December)
Best Days: No good days
Recap
Tiny surf yesterday and today with nothing of note.
This weekend and next week (Dec 14 - 20)
The weekend will remain void of any surfable swell, but we’ve got a couple of average windows of opportunity opening up into next week.
A weak but deepening low moving up past us Monday is due to generate a very short-lived burst of strong S/SW winds in our southern swell window, kicking up a weak S'ly windswell through the day.
Size wise, south magnets up the northern end of the coast may see 2ft+ waves but with an onshore S/SW tending S/SE and then NE breeze. There may be a little runner at those magnets into the afternoon when the wind shifts NE.
Later week a broad but quick burst of strong SW winds may be seen in our southern swell window, producing a small 2ft of S'ly swell for south swell magnets Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
Winds are looking a little dicey, so we'll have to review this again on Monday.
Longer term a broader and stronger swell generating system may develop in our swell window early next week and generate some fun S'ly swell. More on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
