Today’s Forecaster Notes are brought to you by Rip Curl

This weekend and next week (Aug 17 – 23)

The coming out look isn't too flash with nothing of significance or reliability until later next week.

Our N/NE windswell event for the weekend is looking a little dicey, with a strong N/NE fetch aiming into us Sunday morning, weakening through the day before picking up again late in the early, moving away from us late evening.

This will produce a small pulse of N/NE swell for the day Sunday to 2ft to maybe 3ft but with unfavourable N/NW tending stronger N'ly winds.

Monday will be clean with the offshore W'ly change but fading sets from the 2ft range.

Longer term, a strong frontal progression is expected to angle more south to north late week under the influence of a strong node of the Long Wave Trough.

This may see a fetch of strong to gale-force S'ly winds generated up and past us, but we'll have to look at this again Monday. Have a great weekend!
