Slowly fading east-northeast swell
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 5th July)
Best Days: Saturday morning, Sunday morning, Tuesday south magnets
Recap
Inconsistent levels of persistent E/NE swell to 3ft across the magnets with generally favourable morning winds.
Today’s Forecaster Notes are brought to you by Rip Curl
This weekend and next week (Jul 6 - 12)
The swell we've seen the last couple of days should hold in until tomorrow morning to an inconsistent 2-3ft across the north-east magnets but then slowly ease into the afternoon, dropping further from 2ft Sunday and then small to tiny into Monday and Tuesday.
Winds tomorrow will be best in the morning but not great for north-east magnets with a light W/NW breeze, N'ly into the afternoon. Sunday looks similar but with lighter winds for longer.
As the E/NE swell fades early next week a small S'ly swell is now on the cards for south magnets Tuesday.
This will be produced by a strong polar front developing south of us on Sunday and projecting a fetch of SW gales up through our southern swell window briefly before pushing on further east.
A fun 2-3ft of S'ly swell is likely across south magnets Tuesday, easing from 1-2ft Wednesday.
Following this we may see a small S/SE groundswell for Thursday of similar size, but we'll have a closer look at this Monday. Have a great weekend!
