Best Days: Saturday south swell magnets, Monday afternoon when winds shift NW

Recap

A strong kick in new S'ly groundswell yesterday afternoon though the long-period nature of it saw the swell focussing into some breaks but not others.

This morning the swell was on a rapid decline, easing from 3-4ft at south magnets early, much smaller this afternoon.

Today’s Forecaster Notes are brought to you by Rip Curl

This weekend and next week (Jun 8 - 14)

This coming period is void of any major swells besides tomorrow (the most reliable source).

Tomorrow we should see a new pulse of S'ly groundswell to 2-3ft across south swell magnets (tiny to flat elsewhere), generated by a short-lived but significant burst of severe-gale to storm-force W'ly winds on the polar shelf south of us yesterday.

Conditions will be great with a persistent NW offshore.

Following this we'll see a real flukey pulse of N'ly swell on Monday, building rapidly and easing just as quick.

A burst of strong to gale-force N'ly winds right off our coast Monday morning should produce a kick in size to possibly 3ft at north facing beaches through the day, cleaning up as winds swing NW.

We may see a similar pulse of swell for Thursday morning, but we'll have to review this on Monday.

Following this the outlook remains poor with nothing significant due until the following week, but more on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
