Not the best outlook
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 9th January)
Best Days: Saturday late morning
Recap
A fun pulse of S'ly swell was seen yesterday with favourable conditions for south magnets, easing into today but clean again.
Today’s Forecaster Notes are brought to you by Rip Curl
This week and weekend (Jan 8 - 13)
There's nothing significant on the cards running into the end of the week with the surf due to be tiny tomorrow, similar Friday ahead of a late increase in junky N/NE windswell.
The fetch linked to Saturday morning's N/NE windswell event is now looking suss, with only a weak and short-lived burst of NE winds due to develop in our swell window, cut off with a change through Saturday.
Size wise it looks like we'll only see small weak 2ft+ sets across north-east magnets Saturday morning with a N/NW tending W wind ahead of a S'ly change late morning. This looks like the time to hit those north-east swell magnets.
The change won't be strong enough or well aimed enough to generate any decent S'ly swell for Sunday, and the N/NE windswell energy will be all but gone.
Another weak N/NE windswell event is on the cards for Tuesday, but more on this in Friday's update.
