Best Days: Saturday morning for keen surfers

Recap

Tiny surf yesterday, and near flat into today.

Today’s Forecaster Notes are brought to you by Rip Curl

This week and weekend (Mar 31 – Apr 6)

The NE swell due tomorrow from the remnants of Tropical Cyclone Iris might only reach the inconsistent 2ft range now, with the southern NSW coast not picking up a very strong signal at all. Sydney saw inconsistent 3ft sets at magnets, with the the extra travel distance we'll see smaller and less consistent 2ft sets max across north-east facing beaches.

A morning W/NW breeze is due, giving into NE sea breezes, so aim for a morning paddle.

Through Sunday and Monday the surf will likely be more in the tiny size range with infrequent 1ft to maybe 2ft sets at north-east swell magnets along with NW winds Sunday and W/NW winds Monday.

Through next week we'll see a series of very zonal but strong fronts pushing from west to east and with this, we're not expected to see any real size at all across our region.

We'll see the activity take a slightly more north-east track later next week and into next weekend, likely generating small amounts of S'ly swell, but more on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
